Hi! This is Jieyi, and I am currently a graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Having lived in Africa, Asia, and the U.S., I am sensitive to the impact of cultural backgrounds and am able to embrace the differences beyond just cultural aspect. I have experience working with college students, teenagers and their families, and have worked in a psychiatric hospital, and am willing to work with diverse populations, such as clients experiencing emotional challenges, and acculturation challenges.
Here, you can expect counseling helps you to understand yourself and the situation better, find your inner power and strengths, and thus realize your goals. Furthermore, the pathway will enable you to address challenges independently in the future, even without the guidance of a therapist.
As a therapist, I am here to accompany you through the challenges, assist you untangle the knots, and figure out the solutions together. I will try my best to create a safe and accepting environment where you are heard, seen and felt, and where we can discuss any topic you wish. I am trained in person-centered therapy, and utilize it with a combination of Mindfulness, Existential, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Seeking help and opening up ourselves are acts of bravery that deserve encouragement. Let’s take pride in being here! Once again, I am genuinely glad you are here and to work with you!
