Hi! I'm a second-generation Bangladeshi-American counselor working with individuals and families facing a wide range of difficulties, such as daily life stressors, depression, anxiety, and challenges with family and relationships. As a therapist, I believe it is my role to help you explore and understand different aspects about yourself. I believe that much of the problems we face are (more often than not) a direct or indirect result of various external forces, whether that be the effects of intergenerational trauma interwoven into our genetics and experiences, or the oppressive systems under which we live. By understanding these external forces, we can better understand ourselves and our difficulties in relation to them.
I have a particular interest in working with immigrants and with second-generation Americans, and am passionate about exploring the effects of intergenerational trauma. I have over 4 years of experience working in the mental health field, and have prior experience serving the elderly population in rehabilitative settings, as well as children in educational settings, which inform my expertise in working with these populations in therapeutic settings now. I prioritize creating a space that feels safe and non-judgemental while collaboratively exploring with you the best courses of action to progress forward. I believe that establishing a respectful, warm, and genuine relationship between the therapist and client is vital to fostering growth.
I take an integrative approach that combines psychodynamic and feminist perspectives with person-centered and cognitive-behavioral modalities, depending on your goals and needs. Through a combination of these different lenses and approaches, I hope to facilitate healing by helping you better understand yourself and the systems around us.
During my free time, you can find me exploring different parts of the city, or diving deep into analyses of different films and media!

I believe everyone can benefit from therapy and should go to therapy at least once to relieve stress, gain insight, & to explore various aspects of themselves. We all have multiple dimensions to our personalitie & as a counselor, it is my duty to create and hold a safe space for you to explore those dimensions, gain self-awareness, & achieve your goals.
Working with clients has always been a personal fulfillment because I believe anyone can create the change they seek with a little guidance.

Adequate psychotherapy involves time, effort & just like any worthwhile endeavor some degree of risk. I strive to be as direct & as honest as possible in order to minimize the risks. The reality is I approach psychotherapy determined to uncover as much as I can about a person’s life: how one lives, how one views themselves/others, how they connect or fail to connect with people, what one dreads/desires, what they know about themselves and perhaps, most importantly, what they do not wish to know. I believe much of our emotional suffering is directly tied to who we are a people and it is in that understanding that we can begin to change. In my work I try sticking to three main criteria: 1) what is the presenting issue? 2) how does one think therapy may be of help? & 3) what about this issue has made you decide to enter therapy now? It is these criteria that makes therapy very different from any other social interaction. I say that while also respecting where the person is at mentally and emotionally, knowing full well the answers may be hard to come by at first. I genuinely entered this field with the intention of helping others better understand themselves so they can live more fulfilling lives. If this sounds like something that is of interest to you, then I will gladly join with you as we work together to try to figure things out.
